Letter 1900 March 23, Indianapolis, Indiana [to] George S. Cottman, Irvington / James A. Atwell, Governor.

"Dear Sir: It is proposed that patriotic meetings be held throughout the state on the Fourth of July next, celebrating the Centennial of the organization of Indiana as a territory. One of the objects of this proposed celebration in each of the several counties will be the collection of data designed to be aggregated and preserved for historial purposes. With the view of taking the initiative, a meeting will be held at the Governor's parlors at the State House at ten o'clock on next Monday forenoon (March 26.) At the suggestion of General John Coburn, I respectfully invite your attendance on that occasion. Respectfully [signature] Governor.
